چکیده

The basic problem that we will be looking at can be described as follows and is illustrated in Figure 1. The overall objective (as usual) is to reliably communicate a message m ∈ {1, . . . , 2nR} from the encoder to the decoder using the channel n times. The largest rate R for which this is possible is called the capacity of the channel. The channel that we can use is described by a conditional probability distribution p(y|x, s), where x ∈ X is the input to the channel, s ∈ S is the state of the channel, and y ∈ Y is the output of the channel. Initially, we will assume that the sets X , S, and Y are finite. The states of the channel are generated in an IID fashion using a given distribution p(s). The encoder uses his knowledge of the channel state and the message M to be

On The Secrecy of the Cognitive Interference Channel with Channel State

In this paper the secrecy problem in the cognitive state-dependent interference channel is considered. In this scenario we have a primary and a cognitive transmitter-receiver pairs. The cognitive transmitter has the message of the primary sender as side information. In addition, the state of the channel is known at the cognitive encoder. Hence, the cognitive encoder uses this side information t...

A More General Version of the Costa Theorem

In accordance with the Costa theorem, the interference which is independent of the channel input and known non-causally at the transmitter, does not affect the capacity of the Gaussian channel. In some applications, the known interference depends on the input and hence has some information. In this paper, we study the channel with input dependent interference and prove a capacity theorem that n...

An Efficient Scheme for PAPR Reduction of OFDM based on Selected Mapping without Side Information

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has become a promising method for many wireless communication applications. However, one main drawback of OFDM systems is the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Selected mapping (SLM) is a well-known technique to decrease the problem of high PAPR in OFDM systems. In this method, transmitter is obliged to send some bits named side informati...

On MIMO Fading Channels with Side Information at the Transmitter

Transmission of information over a MIMO discrete-time flat fading channel with an average power constraint is considered. The scenario in which the transmitter alone has knowledge of the fading levels, as side information, is assumed. This knowledge may be provided in either a causal or a non-causal manner. Upper and lower bounds are derived for each of the two cases. The tools developed are ap...

Coding for quantum channels with side information at the transmitter

We consider the problem of coding for quantum channels with side information that is available ahead of time at the transmitter but not at the receiver. We find a single-letter expression for the entanglement-assisted quantum capacity of such channels which closely parallels Gel’fand and Pinsker’s solution to the classical version of the same problem. This theorem can also be used to find a low...

Channel Capacity with Side Information - A Unified View

We identify the common underlying form of the capacity expression that is applicable to both cases where causal or non-causal side information is made available to the transmitter. Using this common form we find that the capacity with causal and non-causal side information are identical when all the transmitter side information is also made available to the receiver. A genie-aided outerbound is...
